As part of the European Green Deal, which aims to make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050, the Commission has launched a public consultation open until 17 June 2020. The Commission invites all citizens and organisations to participate in this consultation. It will seek contributions from a wide range of stakeholders, from national, regional and local authorities to businesses, trade unions, civil society organisations, educational organisations, consumer groups, research and innovation organisations, as well as individual citizens, including young people.

The contributions collected in this public consultation will be taken into account in shaping the Green Pact for Europe. The pact will be launched ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) which will be held in Glasgow in 2021.
